The Beginning of a New Year!

Happy 2013! I hope the holidays treated you all well and that you are ready to start fresh, with the new year.

The end of 2012 felt chaotic for me, hence the reason for the break I decided to take from my blog. I’m still not 100% sure I have my footing, but I am going to do my best to get back into the swing of things with the blog….because I miss it!

The beginning of a new year brings about a renewed motivation in people. New Years Resolutions are made (and for some, quickly broken). Each year it seems I have similar ‘resolutions’, and I wouldn’t say I fail at them, but rather they are a work in constant progress.

This year is no different. I still want to work on my overall health and well being. This includes not only physical fitness and eating well but taking a holisitic approach to health and wellness; mind-body-spirit. I want to continue to chunk away at my debt and stash more money into savings.
One thing that’s different this year, though, is I want to spend more time and energy focusing on the things I have in life to be thankful for. It is often so easy to get wrapped up in all the negativity in life; to focus on what’s going wrong. Blessings often go without being counted.  I know I am far better off than some, therefore, who am I to complain when things don’t always go my way? Life isn’t meant to be perfect. It isn’t meant to be easy. Each day, every struggle, brings an opportunity for learning and growth. What a missed opportunity to let that pass by!

I’d love to hear what everyone has in mind for New Year’s Resolutions for 2013. Shout it out in the comments section below!!
